Derrick & Annette Bean

Minister Derrick L. Bean was born in Gary, Indiana but raised in Indianapolis. He was baptized at Barrington Church of Christ in Indianapolis at the age of ten. He preached his first sermon at age thirteen. Derrick began serving as the Minister of the Lower Bucks Church of Christ in February of 2024. Derrick served as the Minister at Lehigh Valley Church of Christ from 2016 to 2023. Previously he served as the Minister at Fountain Square Church of Christ in Indianapolis from 2013 to 2015 before relocating to Pennsylvania. He has also served as Minister at the Christ of Christ in Warsaw, Indiana from 2011 to 2013.

Derrick has a Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from University of Indianapolis where he also was able to complete some biblical courses. He has been preaching since 1984 and has extensive ministerial training. He completed Training for Ministry Service conducted at East Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Fort Wayne, Indiana under the leadership of the late U.L. Stewart. In addition, Derrick completed a Kerux course which involved ministry training, teaching, and preaching at Kingsley Terrace Church of Christ in Indianapolis under the leadership of Minister Stanley Hubbard, who ordained him into the ministry.

Married to Annette since August of 1989, Minister Derrick is the father of four daughters and one granddaughter. He has been a guest speaker in a number of congregations in Indiana, also for congregations in Chicago, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, Florida, and Hawaii. In the summer of 2018 and 2019, Minister Derrick and his wife Annette went on mission trips to support Minister Andrew Major and the Central Church of Christ in Nassau, Bahamas. Minister Derrick delivered sermons and taught classes. Annette conducted workshops and taught classes with the sisters of the congregation. Also on their mission trips, they visited sick members in the hospital, shut-in members in their homes, and were involved with community service projects.
